Turkey

Since biblical times, Anatolia (Turkey) has played a major part in the history of civilisation.  The Old Testament contains a wealth of references to the land and its people, from Abraham father of the Jewish nation, who came from Edessa, to Noah, whose ark is said to have landed on Mount Ararat.   In the New Testament we read from the book of Revelations about the Seven Churches of Asia Minor.
